This chapter describes Profile → Documents: Certificates and Portfolio. These are personal document areas — not the organisation-wide Library (chapter 8) or manager document control suites (chapter 13).

Certificates is where you upload, renew, and track clinical and governance certificates (for example resuscitation, manual handling, driving, infection prevention) as required by your organisation.
The list of required document types and who must hold them is configured by managers in Solution options under Clinical documents (see chapter 14). Your personal record (clinical grade, relationship or employment type, locale, and whether you are on medical faculty and active) determines which rows appear for you.
The portal applies a governance certificates scope for the missing-documents logic: broadly, staff who are on medical faculty and not marked medically inactive see the same style of mandatory list your organisation configures. If you believe you are out of scope but still see requirements, ask your manager to confirm your personnel flags.
When you use Available shifts (chapter 6), the application may block booking if mandatory clinical or governance documents are still missing (with a narrow exception where a row is only flagged as due soon in the underlying data — treat due soon as urgent anyway).
Other blockers such as unsigned memos, leave on the same day, or recruitment not approved are separate checks — see chapter 6.

Portfolio holds professional portfolio evidence your organisation has chosen to collect in the portal — for example CPD summaries, reflections, or qualification documents depending on configuration.
