← Shifts hub
- Menu: Management → Clinical shifts (wording can vary slightly by organisation).
- Address bar path:
/manager/clinical-services
You work on a calendar grid of rostered duties for your locale (region). The locale badge on the page tells you which site’s shifts you are editing.
- Confirm the filter start date — Many actions (including add from template) use the Start date you have set in the filters, not “today” by default.
- Event locations — If you rely on a standard list of place names, follow Event locations setup so rostering and reporting stay consistent.
- Solution options — If staff use Available shifts, review Shift self-booking and Open shift eligibility under Solution options so the live grid matches your policy (see Operations & resources).
From the clinical shifts workspace, managers can:
- Add a single shift — Use the normal “new shift” flow for one duty on the selected date (duty type, times, location, designation, etc., as your organisation requires).
- Multi-add — Open the multi-add assistant to:
- repeat a pattern across several days, or
- add multiple duties on the same day, or
- apply a saved template (see Shift templates).
- Create template from selection — After selecting one or more existing shifts on the grid, you can save them as a named template for reuse (same names appear on the Shift templates screen).
If the portal warns about missing location, duty type, or start/finish times, complete those fields before saving — the checks are there to avoid incomplete rows on the roster.
If a duty finishes the next morning, set the finish time accordingly (the same rule applies when editing shift templates). If finish is left empty when it should not be, the system may not calculate hours until you fix the times.
Where your build exposes it, you can run bulk update on selected shifts (for example to change location or clear a field for many rows at once). Use bulk tools only when you have checked the selection matches what you intend to change.
- Assign medics or leave duties as open for self-booking, according to your process.
- Price and invoicing — See Shift pricing and invoicing.
- Compliance — Open-shift booking can be blocked by missing certificates; that is controlled under Solution options → Clinical documents and Governance documents.
